Anna and Robbie asked me to photograph their Civil Partnership after I’d photographed their friends back in the summer, and with some of the same crowd attending I knew it would be lively and great fun, not just for them but for me also. Winter weddings throw up different challenges than a summer event, most notably the weather and shorter daylight hours, but this doesn’t mean you won’t get great photos that capture the mood and atmosphere of your day, it just means you may get a little cold if you decide to go outside! I had met up with Anna and Robbie back in the summer for a pre wedding photo shoot in Greenwich park, it was a really hot day and we took our time walking through the park, finishing at a pub for a drink and bite to eat. A pre wedding photo session is a good way for me to see how people feel when having their photo taken, being the centre of attention is not a comfortable situation for a lot of people and I try my best to make them feel more at ease so that on their wedding day they at least know what to expect and are a little more familiar with being photographed. Anna and Robbie are such a sweet couple and photographing their wedding was an absolute pleasure and I wish them all the happiness for their future.
