Photographing Caroline & Damiens wedding at Latimer Place in Buckinghamshire was a result of them winning my competition that I ran last January where a couple had a chance to win their wedding photography for free. Basically all they had to do was email me with their wedding date and location, then ‘like’ my Helen Batt Photrography Facebook Page and wait to see if their name was pulled out the hat. Will I do it again this year? Maybe but you will need to keep an eye on my Facebook page to find out.
When I phoned Caroline to tell her she was the winner she was naturally over the moon and it was great to be able to give a gift such as this to someone who was clearly really appreciative.
Not having photographed a wedding at Latimer Place before I had a quick look at the venue before arriving and it looked lovely. Their actual ceremony was to take place in St Mary’s Church in Chesham and then it was a horse drawn carriage back to Latimer Place for their reception.
I enjoy starting the days wedding photography with the bride and bridesmaids getting ready and if logistically possible also getting some shots of the groom and his groomsmen and the finishing touches to their preparation. In this case it was just the girls and then off to meet the groom at the church.
With the weather being a little inclement, Caroline and Damien were lucky to enjoy a dry run back in the open horse drawn carriage after the ceremony, always a very romantic way to travel on your wedding day.
I don’t think Caroline stopped smiling all day despite the rain curtailing the use of the bouncy castle until later in the evening and Damien to looked a very happy man.
