BABY PHOTO SESSIONS

Together with the regular portrait sessions listed above, a special baby package is also available.

This gives you 3 separate studio or outdoor portrait shoots at any stage of your baby’s development and can also include a maternity shoot rather than one of the baby photo sessions if you’d prefer.

Baby Photo As an example you could have : –

  • Maternity shoot or Newborn shoot to start with. The Newborn session would ideally be taken between the ages of 6-9 days to get those cute little curled up poses.
  • 8 -10 months as your second portrait shoot when your baby is sitting unaided
  • 12 -14 months as your third portrait shoot when your baby is standing unaided

WHAT SHALL I WEAR TO MY PHOTO SESSION?

Everyone has their own style but people often wonder what to wear to their photo shoot and there are some pointers I can give you to get the most flattering portrait of your self and your family members.

  • Wear solid coloured clothing and choose similar tones for the bottom and top half so there isn’t a strong contrast distracting the eye from your face.
  • For a family shoot choose 1-3 colours for your group, clothes with similar tones that work nicely together.
  • Wear muted tones as apposed to bright colours, particulary reds, oranges and yellows that can create a colour cast on your face when being photographed.
  • Wear clothing that doesn’t reveal too much skin as areas of flesh such as bear arms and legs attract the eye and can make you look bigger, drawing attention away from your face.
  • Dark socks and footwear, again bright areas will be like a magnet to the eye.
  • Avoid busy patterns, stripes and logos as once again these will be distracting to the eye and can make you look bigger.
  • Feel free to bring make up and hair products so you can touch up your make up and hair if necessary, studio lights can make you look a little shiny even if it’s not noticeable to the naked eye so much.
  • I’m not a fan of white and black clothing, there is a place for it with high and low key portraiture, but black is very sombre, especially on outdoor shoots and white is bright, so when not in a high key set up it will be competing with the face for the eye’s attention.
  • If you are having a maternity shoot it is best to wear loose fitting clothing that won’t leave marks on the skin on the ‘bump’ area.
  • If you’d like photos of your baby in their gorgeous little birthday suit, again put them in something loose so as not to leave marks on their perfect skin.
  • Above all else whatever type of photo shoot you are having wear something you feel comfortable in and have fun with it, I want the experience to be an enjoyable one that you will look back on and remember happy times!
  • Below you will find a few examples of what you could wear as just a guide.
