Hannah & Davids wedding at St Edmunds School and Winters Barn combined two wonderful venues situated in Canterbury, Kent. They were able to have their ceremony in the beautiful chapel at St Edmunds as Hannah had attended the school there, followed by their reception at the ever popular Winters Barn a short drive away.
Beginning the day at Winters Barn, Hannah and her bridesmaids had use of the perfect room to get ready which has plenty of space and plenty of mirrors, always a good thing! With hair and make up already underway and the champagne soon opened, the wedding day preparations were beginning as they should. Hannah looked beautiful in her dress and with mum applying the finishing touches of deodorant under Hannah’s arms she was ready to travel in style in the white Rolls Royce to the ceremony.
As I was arriving before Hannah at St Edmunds I was able to take photos of David and some of the guests before they were ushered inside. With the school placed at the top of St Thomas School there is a stunning view across Canterbury with Canterbury Cathedral standing proud in the distance which everyone after the ceremony was able to take in while some group photos were taken.
Luckily the weather was perfect and only rained a little during the ceremony so by the time everyone emerged the sun was shining again and once guests had arrived at Winters Barn they were able to enjoy drinks in the garden. This is always good for me as it enables me to move easily between different groups of people and photograph them with one another as well as with the bride and groom. The barn itself looked lovely and as I normally do I took a little time to photograph the room before the guests moved in as well as the the table decorations and other details that had been carefully chosen by the bride and sometimes the groom!
I don’t normally remember to mention other vendors from the many weddings I photograph but I did on this occasion make a note of the caterers who were ‘Scott Anderson Caterers Ltd’, they provided me with a fantastic meal! Also the DJ was Iain from Glitterball Disco, he always goes the extra mile for his clients and provides great music.
So with the wedding breakfast cleared and the speeches finished it was onto the dance floor and Hannah and David did not disappoint. They had taken the time and effort to learn a choreographed dance and they performed it brilliantly so well done both of you and many congratulations once again.
